When we return, each class will operate as a ‘bubble’. These groups will stay separate at all times, this is to make sure there is no risk of cross contamination. This will mean that staff will not be able to cross over and those staff who have previously worked with children from different classes will now be based within one bubble. This will also mean that children will not be able to access a breakout space as classes will have designated times for breaks.
Additional interventions will take place in class bubbles, where children will remain 2 metres from the member of staff delivering all interventions.
We have chosen to stay within class bubbles to make it quicker and easier to respond to any confirmed cases of COVID-19. In the event of a confirmed case, this will impact only on the one bubble.
Classes will be taught within their own classrooms for the majority of the time. Other rooms in use and the measures in place are as follows:
Hall – the children will use the Hall on a rota basis for lunches. Tables, chairs and doors will be cleaned between each bubble, The Hall will be separated into 2 rooms using the partition doors so children will not be in the same room as any children from a different bubble.
IT Suite – Each class will have 1 week timetabled to use the IT suite in each half term. This will then be deep cleaned each Thursday and left for over 72 hours before the next class use the room.
Corridors – Year 3 and 4 will use the stairs at the back of the building and Year 5 and 6 will use the front staircase. Handrails will be wiped between classes. Classes will not be on the corridors at the same time.
