Assistant Head with responsibility for Inclusion, including the role of SENDCO

Full time permanent post, required from September 2022

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to lead on Inclusion as part of our senior leadership team. The Assistant Head Teacher will be the designated SENDCo and will have responsibility for the strategic leadership of inclusion across the school. Working closely with all staff, they will be responsible for supporting and promoting our inclusive ethos.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed professional, both to play a significant role in the future development of the school, and to gain invaluable experience of senior leadership.

This post would suit an experienced SENDCO looking to move into senior leadership whilst retaining their SEND responsibility. We are looking for an experienced and fully qualified SENDCo, who is able to think strategically and continue to drive our provision forwards, and further develop our school, including the ASD Resourced Provision.

Cliffe Hill is a one form entry primary school, with 200 children on roll and the Calderdale Resourced Provision for Key Stage 2 pupils with a diagnosis of autism. At present, we have 26 children on roll with an EHCP, 17 of whom are within the mainstream school. 

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring all staff work to support and promote the school values and to secure the highest possible standards and outcomes for all our pupils.
