Welcome to Cliffe Hill

Music at Cliffe Hill

At Cliffe Hill, we love to listen to, sing along to, play and create music!

We have a varied curriculum which takes us on a journey from finding the pulse of a piece of music, through to playing and singing along, all the way to making our own compositions.  We love using our percussion instruments, glockenspiels and recorders within our performances and in KS2 we use a variety of digital audio workspaces to support us in our composing.

We enjoy many different genres including ska, rock, classical, RnB, pop and hip hop. Sharing our favourite music is important to us and we love to hear what the teachers and pupils have chosen to share in our assemblies.

Choir and recorder club are exciting opportunities for us to develop our love for singing and playing music. Through these groups, we get extra opportunities to perform in assemblies and out of school events such as Young Voices and Voices Together.

Not only do we enjoy performing, but we also cherish moments where we watch and hear others perform live music.  Whether it be the Calderdale Music Carollers , the local church band playing ‘The Snowman’, going to see a musical in London, or the band ‘Five Miles Out’ sharing some 80s  rock music with us – we are always ready and eager for a live musical experience.
