Nursery

One of our favourite stories in Nursery is Elmer.

We have put together some activities for your children to do at home, based on this story. We would love to see photos of your creations, these can be emailed to head@cliffehill.calderdale.sch.uk or sent through the school Facebook page.

Try making some of your own biscuits and decorating them all differently. Will your biscuits have spots or stripes?

After you've made your patchwork elephant, you may want to try making a patchwork person. Draw around yourself or someone in your family and then cover it in lots of coloured papers. You may even want to use some of the packets from your recycling to colour them in.

Look around your house and garden for objects that are the colours of the rainbow. Can you make a rainbow or elephant pattern with your treasures?

Make an Elmer using an old milk carton and some tissue paper. Ask an adult to help you to cut the bottom from the carton as this bit can be a little tricky.

Ask your family what their favourite colour is. My favourite colour is purple, I wonder what yours is?

Make some elephant shapes with salt or playdough. You could make them flat or even try to make them stand up.
